Bio Data:
Oye holds a BSc in Geography, an MSc in Environmental Management and Hydrology, and a PhD in Climatology. His doctoral research focused on drought vulnerability and adaptation strategies using space-based and meteorological systems. He is currently a Lecturer in the Department of History and Geography at Morgan State University, Baltimore. He was a visiting scientist at the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences in Missouri and an ECA Fellow at IDEP. He also served as Lecturer and Associate Dean in the Department of Meteorology and Climate Change at the Nigeria Maritime University. Oye has consulted for CSDevNet on stakeholder input for Nigeria’s COP25 implementation and mentored for the CTCN/Seedstars Climate Innovation Lab for Africa in 2020. With over 10 years of experience in climate and environmental justice, he recently won a UK micro grant on climate adaptation with a team from FUTA. He is published and serves on GOPA-International’s expert team for climate resilience in West Africa.
