Kudakwashe Joshua Chipunza has just joined UNECA as a research fellow under the Deputy Executive Secretary, Programme (DES-P). He has a Doctorate in Development Finance from the University of Stellenbosch and a Master of Finance (cum laude) from the University of KwaZulu Natal. His research interests are focused on asset pricing, financial inclusion, and household welfare in emerging markets, and he has published eight peer-reviewed articles in these areas. Driven by the passion to improve welfare of vulnerable communities, Kudakwashe has previously served as a monitoring and evaluation officer focusing on poverty interventions through saving group in rural KwaZulu Natal of South Africa.
