Atsin, Jessica Achiapo Lisette is CEO of Sabine Plattner African Charities (SPAC). Based in Cape Town, South Africa, she leads the organization’s strategic vision, advancing its mission to support environmental conservation, education, and community empowerment across Africa. Before joining SPAC, she served as a Lecturer in Economics at the University of the Western Cape from 2016 to 2018, where she contributed to academic research and the mentorship of young economists. She holds a Ph.D. in Financial Economics from the University of the Western Cape, where her research focused on “Essays on the Stock Markets in Sub-Saharan Africa.” She also earned a master’s degree in economics from Nelson Mandela University, with a dissertation analyzing calendar effects and market anomalies on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Her academic and professional journey reflects a deep commitment to sustainable development, economic empowerment, and data-driven policy design across the African continent.
