Dede Gafa, PhD is a Development Economist, Researcher, and Lecturer at the African School of Economics (ASE) with a strong background in applied econometrics, energy policy, gender and social inclusion. He has held various research and consulting roles with institutions including the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Nathan Associates, and Université de Lomé. With a PhD in Development Economics and extensive experience across Africa and internationally, Dr. Gafa specializes in evidence-based policy research, project design, and data analysis. He has also served as a Visiting PhD Fellow at UNU-WIDER in Finland and as a mentee with PEGNet at the Kiel Institute, Germany. His work focuses on inclusive development, energy access, and public policy, with a passion for turning rigorous research into actionable development outcomes.
