<p dir="auto">A 2024 United Nations report on water and climate change highlighted that "Climate change is first and foremost a water crisis. We are feeling the effects through increased flooding, rising sea levels, melting ice caps, forest fires and droughts." These facts are part of our daily lives and remind us of the importance of sustainable water management in strengthening the resilience of societies and ecosystems and reducing carbon emissions.</p>
<p dir="auto">Everyone has a role to play: individual and family actions are vital.</p>

<p dir="auto">For your planning purposes, kindly be informed that the 13th conference on Climate Change and Development in Africa (CCDA-XIII), co-hosted by the Government of Ethiopia, the African Union Commission (AUC), the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), in partnership with the Pan-African Climate Justice Alliance, will take place on the 5-7 September 2025 in Addis Ababa. The conference will be convened in a hybrid format on the sidelines of the second UN Climate week of 2025 (taking place on the 1-6 September) and the second Africa Climate Summit (taking place on the 8-10 September).
